Charges

Our charges for Long & Local Moving services

Local Move

There are two options with the pricing for our services. The main option is to pay for services based on hourly moving rates for which we can provide you with a moving estimate. The alternative is to ask for a moving quote or  a "flat rate".

A quote often serves well in providing peace of mind since you know in advance what your move will cost. When movers quote a job, they take into account several factors. These include the cost of visiting the client to conduct a thorough inventory of all items to be moved and taking into consideration any possible delays or unexpected circumstances that could arise during the move. For this reason, quoted rates will generally be set 15-25% higher than the estimated cost of moves.

Travel Charges

For local moves within Calgary and Edmonton, there is an additional one hour charge for travel time at the contracted rate unless otherwise stated. This charge covers the cost of the crew travelling to the place of origin and back to the office from the destination. This charge will be higher when travelling to or from outlying cities or towns. When required to travel more than 50 kilometers outside of Calgary, the travel charge will be based on a charge per kilometer as opposed to the hourly rate. Click here for  Long distance Move

Estimates are free

There is no charge for us to come to your home, look at what you have to move, and give you an estimate. Please feel free to call us to arrange this service or fill our Inventory Form.

Long Distance

We consider any move that starts or ends more then 100 kilometers from Calgary's or Edmonton City Centre to be a long-distance move. Pricing for these moves is based on an hourly rate for loading the contents onto the truck and then offloading at the destination plus a charge for travel time. The charge for travel time, for a long-distance move, is billed at a rate per kilometer one way (depending on the size of the crew and truck)) or one hour at the contracted rate (whichever is greater). This charge covers the cost of getting the crew to the job, travel between locations, refuelling, and returning to the office at the end of the job.

Charging for travel time in this manner allows customers to better predict the cost of the move as they do not have to worry about how long the drive will take. Poor weather conditions, accidents, and detours causing delays will not affect the customer when paying by the kilometer.

For smaller moves, the above charges for travel time can be reduced through flexability on your part. If you are able to be flexible on the timing of your move, this may allow you to share the cost for travel time with another customer. This also applies if we can manage to co-ordinate a move coming back from your destination city.
